WHO WE ARE

Mitzvah Kitchen is a nonprofit organization committed to cooking with purpose — bringing people together to nourish bodies, build community, and serve with heart.

Our mission is to create meaningful connections through the preparation and distribution of kosher meals to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity across Miami-Dade County. At the core of our work is the belief that a shared meal can unite diverse communities, uplift those in need, and inspire lasting change.

In addition to our community meal efforts, we also run inclusive, hands-on culinary programs for individuals with special needs in partnership with Friendship Circle of Miami.

These programs provide life skills training, foster independence, and offer enriching opportunities to contribute to a greater cause.

With over 20,000 meals donated in our first year, Mitzvah Kitchen continues to grow as a movement of compassion, dignity, and action – turning every kitchen into a space for impact.

Mitzvah Kitchen Miami is overseen by an independent Board of Directors and conducts an independent annual audit. It is registered with the State of Florida: Registration #CH78510 and is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3), Tax-ID #93-3021210.

A DEDICATION

TO ROBERT & LISA KATZMAN

Betty's Kitchen, the home of Mitzvah Kitchen, exists because of the vision and support of Robert & Lisa Katzman — and what began as an idea has grown into something far greater than any one moment.

Today, this space is filled with volunteers of all ages, coming together to cook, give, and care for others in a way that brings dignity and warmth to every meal.

This is more than a kitchen. It's a legacy of kindness in action.

Thank you Robert & Lisa.
